Download all images from any webpage with a single click

Web designers always come across websites from which he takes inspiration. We also like to take some images from the website often to create something new.

Downloading all images on a particular webpage can be quite tedious. This is where I find OutWit images a great add-on with my Firefox browser.

Features of OutWit Images

* Install OutWit Images on your Firefox browser. You can access it from an icon next to the address bar.

* You can get these images with a simple drag and drop, you can also set the size or format specification. Selected images are gathered in a basket “the catch” from which they can be saved directly onto the user’s hard disk.
* The application provides many options for filtering, viewing and saving the images. OutWit Images is the first application of its kind, specifically designed for the collection of images.
* Its sleek, easy-to-use interface displays the thumbnails on a black background and allows to smoothly scroll through quantities of images, making it efficient and easy.

Do you know about any similar tools on Firefox or Chrome. I personally find OutWit the best. You can share your view through your comments.

Send yourself an email reminder with Nudge Mail

To set reminders in the future I use Google Calendar. With Google Calendar I can make sure that I get reminders sent on Gmail or even through SMS. But this is a little tedious and I needed a quicker and faster way to set-up reminders. For instance I have to call someone at a particular time, opening up your Google Calendar for that is a little tedious.

This is where Nudgemail can be very useful.

Nudgemail Features

* Register your email address with NudgeMail from their homepage.
* Now send in a reminder to yourself with an email. Just type in a reminder message in the body of the email and send the message to the following address.

nudge@nudgemail.com

* In the subject type in when the reminder has to be sent. I typed in 10 minutes and I received a reminder in 10 minutes. I could also send reminders with subject line as “Tomorrow“, “Nov 20” and more.

* Another way to use service is to use the different email address to set reminders. This is where I can use “tomorrow@nudgemail.com” and the reminder message can be left as the subject of the email.

There are a few more tips on using NudgeMail at their “how to” page.

I found this service really useful for setting important yet mundane reminders. Most times I use this to remind myself that I need to call someone on their birthdays. Do try out NudgeMail and drop in your comments and views.

[How to] Run infected files without getting your system infected

Yes it’s true that you can run infected files on your system without getting the system infected. Sandboxie is an Application that allows you to do so. This is useful in circumstances where you have a USB device or installing a not so known file on your computer. Sandboxie can help you install the program even if it is infected without getting your system affected.

Here is a quick demonstration
1)I have downloaded a infected file.

2)Kaspersky prompts me that the file is infected.
3)Thankfully I have Sandboxie on installed on my computer.
4)Now run the file. You have to navigate to the folder that has the file which is infected.
5)Right Click on the file and then Click “Run Sandboxed” from the drop down menu.

Just a few points of some note. Sandboxie is not a Anti-Virus software and having an updated antivirus program is still the best way to keep your system safe.

Do try out Sandboxie and drop in your comments.

Features of Google Music India

Google Music India is good for people looking to stream music rather than download files of music.
The search feature is pretty good with the ability to limit the results according to a time frame like the 1970s decade.
Clicking on the link will play the music streamed for Google Music’s partner websites. This will use Flash player so make sure your browser supports Flash.
Mostly the music results were Hindi film songs but I could pull up a decent amount of classical Indian music results too. I am not so sure how good it is with regional music but I guess with time this service will only get better.

5 great GreaseMonkey Scripts for your Facebook accounts

Well here are some of my favourite Greasemonkey scripts for Firefox users that totally enhance the Facebook experience. :) Ever wondered how cool it might be if you are able to see the highlighted birthdays on your homepage, clean out your Facebook wall with less advertisements, manage your homepage the way you want it to be and many more.

* Cleaner Facebook Wall : Imagine an advertisement free Facebook wall. I usually get irritated by the zillions of advertisements overcrowding my homepage. So I was searching for ways to avoid it and I found this Greasemoneky script which gives you a cleaner Facebook wall. :) A better experience all together.
* Auto colorizer: I just wanted to change the way my homepage looks so I installed this Greasemonkey script which adds a color scheme to my Facebook account according to the profile picture you have uploaded. It makes the Facebook experience a bit colourful and nice. :)
* Highlight the Birthdays: There are some of my friends who really have problem remembering the birthdays, even if the birthdays are now shown on the homepage of your Facebook account. This Greasemonkey script highlights the birthday reminders on the right hand side of your homepage. Well, a nice way to remember the birthdays, and wish your near and dear ones’. :)
* Large images on Facebook: I used to get really irritated when I had to strain my eyes to see a particular image on Facebook. So I tweaked a bit and found this Greasemonkey Script that enlarges the photographs and profile photos of the Facebbok users on mouse hover. This is a good technique by which we can see the images in a better way. :)
* Enhance the Facebook account: Apart from one click logout, stretched homepage and keyboard shortcuts you can manage the sidebars, their visibility and customize the homepage as and when required. This Greasemonkey script enhances your Facebook experience making you tweak and change as and when required. :)
